ECGC Adopts 'Plants at Work in the Home' Tag Program
The ECGC Distributors Ltd. is working in conjunction with Plants at Work and Master Tag to incorporate the new educational tags into their independent garden centers. With a tag redesign specific to the ECGC, the program is expected to launch in January 2007.
"We [ECGC] are excited to participate with Plants at Work and Master Tag on this new Point of Purchase program. This will help us educate our customers in an informative and beautiful way," said Kathy Scott, ECGC purchasing director. "Twenty-five years ago, several independent garden center owners began meeting on a regular basis to learn from each other as they grew their individual businesses," continued Scott.
“The new color scheme for the Plants at Work in the Home tags and posters will be specific to the ECGC, building brand recognition for the ECGC while promoting Plants at Work,” said Denise Godfrey, interim Plants at Work board member.
The ECGC is a LLC of the eleven largest independent retail garden specialty centers in the United States. The organization has long advocated the increased awareness of the benefits of indoor plants to improve air quality and overall health in the workplace and home. The ECGC has 43 stores and is owned by: Al’s Garden Center, OR; English Gardens, MI; Green View Companies, IL; Homestead Gardens, MD; Mahoney’s Garden Centers, MA; Martin Viette Nurseries, NY; McDonald Garden Centers, VA; Molbak’s, WA. Pasquesi Home & Gardens, IL; Petitti’s Garden Centers, OH; and Southern Homes & Gardens, AL.
